HOW IT STARTED
In 1986, Sam and Rima began an exciting new chapter by emigrating from India to Canada. They embarked on a six-month road trip across the country, journeying from the East Coast to the West Coast and visiting major cities along the way. With them, they brought exquisite jewellery and handicrafts from India, introducing their treasures to local retailers. The response was extraordinary, sparking a significant demand for wholesale silver jewellery in the Canadian market. This success led them to settle in Toronto, which soon became their new home.
By 1988, Sam and Rima had established their Canadian office at 55 Queen Street East, located in Canada's Jewellery Hub. The business flourished, and when their son, Rishabh Khamesra, joined the business they recently marked another milestone by moving to a larger showroom at 27 Queen Street East. Over time, their venture grew into a thriving family enterprise, proudly serving over 1,000 independent retailers and chain stores across North America.
Today, House of Jewellery remains an independent, family-owned business operated by the second generation. Guided by the founding core values of integrity, effective communication, and a customer-first approach, we continue to build strong, lasting relationships. We consider each of our customers part of our extended family and deeply appreciate the support we’ve received over the past 35+ years—whether online, by phone, fax, in-store visits, or through trade show purchases.
